Our Story

Introduction

The premise behind Sanduba was started in 2011. After 2 years of research, careful planning and searching for our illustrious first site, Sanduba opened it’s doors in March of 2013. We’re a new kind of food business, pioneering healthy food on the go with speed.

Owners Cameron & Geoff care passionately for what they are doing and believe strongly in offering a wide range of healthy, nutritious and sometimes indulgent breakfast and lunch options freshly made each day. At Sanduba we care for good honest, natural and flavour packed ingredients. Big tastes that come from a menu designed to be healthy and delicious.

Finally our food is always ready to go when you are.

Born Today

We put a lot of time and effort into finding the best ingredients possible. Our artisan breads are all organic and freshly baked every single day. Our meat & poultry come from a sustainable supplier, are always free range and or grassfed. Our eggs are  free range and our fruit and vegetable produce is of the highest quality. We are constantly searching for new, exciting, healthy & ethically produced produce.

At Sanduba our philosophy never changes. We lovingly create handmade, natural, flavoursome food. Every effort is made to avoid using those nasty preservatives, additives or chemicals. There are no sell by dates on our sandwiches, they are ‘Born Today’ to be eaten today. Wherever possible, we source seasonal Australian produce from local farms & providers, while a lot of the produce we use is certified organic.

When products are sourced from further afield, we make sure that they are not only of high quality but also, that Fair Trade practises are adhered to, such as our Fair Trade & Rainforest Alliance Coffee from Mocopan.

Health & Wellbeing

Our team at Sanduba care passionately about good food, being active, eating right and smiling. We take great pride in being able to serve a wide range of delicious food. Our recipes are filled with wholefoods, healthy grains, “superfoods”, protein, vitamins and love.

Eat right, feel right we say. Finally, we feel it’s important to be able to cater for everybody, whether you are a vegetarian, gluten intolerant or just keen on maintaining a healthy and balanced diet. Everyone is more than welcome.

Sustainability

When starting the Sanduba journey one of our goals was to start a business we could all be proud of. So we take great care in sourcing sustainable ingredients, while also reducing our environmental impact by sourcing recyclable and often compostable packaging.

For example, our tuna is ranked number one by Greenpeace for it’s fair and environmentally sound sourcing of sustainable pole and line caught tuna. While our coffee is served in a 100% Biodegradable/Compostable coffee cup, the most eco-friendly compostable cup in the industry.

Wherever possible we source sustainable produce, while we do our very best to provide a consciously responsible offering, striking a balance with fair trade & ethical suppliers whilst purchasing as locally as possible.

Charity

Our chefs are very passionate about the food we make. Every day we make our sandwiches from scratch, freshly made in store & most definitely NOT bought in from a factory.

As a result we often have some food leftover at the end of each day. Normally we wouldn’t be a fan of any wastage but having some food leftover gives us the opportunity to donate food to our friends at OzHarvest. A truly amazing organisation that redirect unsold food to people in need.

We’ve already had some great feedback from customers, who have kindly taken the time to let us know how much of a difference it makes to those in need. Long may this relationship continue we say.
